(Don't) Let it Snow!

Well, I'm snowed in. Are you surprised?? Last night just before I was going to bed I looked outside and there was a little dusting of snow on my car, no big deal. I was thinking 'Oh, we're probably not gonna get the blizzard they were calling for...' Was I wrong! I think we probably have about eight inches, maybe ten!

Here are a few pictures I snapped a few minutes ago...

I moved my car to the bottom of the hill last night so it didn't get stuck in my driveway. Right now, though, I can't even move it parked down there!

The snow blew into my front door too, aye yi yi!

You can really see how thick the snow is in this picture. Look how beautifully it's laying on the roof, though!

So, I was starting to get a little bored and decided to try my hand at snow cream. Would you believe that I've never made it before? I was over at one of my favorite blogs, and saw that she and her kids had made some snow cream and she posted the recipe, so I thought I would give it a try!

I put in a little more milk than I should have, but it still turned out yummmmmy! My first snow cream experience was delish!

Today makes post number 95 for me! Wowzers! I'm thinking I may do a Valentine giveaway in celebration of my 100th post! What do you think?!

If you're getting snow, stay warm! If not, I'm super jealous of you! Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!

Father of the Bride: My Absolute Favorite

"Daddy, I met a man in Rome. And he's handsome and brilliant and we're getting married."

Do you remember that line? I could recite every line from this movie! I have seen it so many times. It is honestly my favorite movie of all time. George Banks is my father. Or at least he will be when I'm finally engaged. He will be the parent that loses their mind about how I'm too young, and he's (the guy) probably unemployed, and he drives too fast, and wears the wrong shoes. Oh, and he will most definitely despise my wedding planner. But I love my dad, and it's ok if he does act like George Banks.

There are times when my dad and I are together and we will both crack up at me reciting lines from this movie. Below are some of my favorites...

Annie: "He's an independent communications consultant."
George: "Independent? That's code for unemployed."

George: "Don't forget to fasten your condoms! Seatbelts! I mean seatbelts!"

George: "Twelve hundred dollars for a cake? My first car didn't cost that much"
Franck: "Welcome to the nineties, Mr. Banks"

George: "I use to think a wedding was a simple affair. Boy and girl meet, he buys a ring, she buys a dress, they say I do. I was wrong. That's getting married. A wedding is entirely different."

And a few stills from the movie....

"Twelve hundred dollars for a cake?"

"We'll take the cake."

One of my favorites

The house

"Who else can we ask not to eat? My parents? Your mother?"

The one and only

Just after he forgot his line and said 'I do'

This scene is when I fell in love with the song My Girl

Is it really surprising that this is my favorite movie? I mean, come on, there's romance, there's father-daughter love, and there's a wedding! In my opinion it doesn't get any better!

Did you all love this movie as much as I did? Do you have a movie that you hold close to your heart like I do this one?

I don't know what this post is about....

Well, it happened.
It happens to the best of us.
Blogger's block.

What's wrong with me? I always have something to talk about, some picture to show you, something to give my opinion about.....nothing.nada.zilch.

I think the reason for this bump in the blog road is because I am mentally exhausted. I put in a twelve and a half hour day yesterday and I haven't bounced back. Not only was it twelve and a half hours, it was a hard twelve and a half hours. No explanation needed.

I will get my gumption (I've never written that word, but I like it) back, just not today.

On a very happy note, though, I have been following this blog for the last couple of months. Jennifer and her husband have been trying for almost three years to adopt a daughter from China. Well, it finally happened this week!! God is so so good!! They are now a happy family of six!!

Also, one of my new favorites, Miss Jessica at Kitchen Belleicious, is hosting a wonderful giveaway over at her place. So head on over there right now!

And while I'm going here and there and everywhere, I suppose it's a wonderful time to welcome my new followers! Hello! Thanks for joining us here at BeB! I hope you feel right at home :)

And thank you sweet people for the comments on my last post! You all know how to make a girl feel goooood! I promise I will be back tomorrow with more excitement....maybe.

Until then, do you all die over this picture?? I want it!!

 Have a wonderful evening, lovies!

It was a PARTY (and then some)

{Photo here}

Hello everyone!

Well, let me say that the gala last night was F-U-N! For real, like a serious par-tay!! I had high hopes that it would be fun, but I was also worried that it had the potential to be stuffy and boring. As I mentioned, the theme was Havana Nights, so all the food and drinks were Cuban-themed. There was mojito!! There was also a silent and live auction and a lighting of a 60th anniversary candle. The committee had also hired professional dancers for entertainment! And when all this was said and done, there was dancing...lots of dancing. I danced my booty off with my coworkers and some of my kids' parents. Surely, they'll still trust me with their children after last night :)

So, I know you're wanting to see some pictures, right? Especially after the little teaser that I gave you of my shoes....

I wore a black strapless, belted dress from H&M, my turquoise pumps and pearls (and OPI Cajun Shrimp, if you were wondering). This dress is from a few years ago, but I thought it was perfect for this occasion.

And then I decided to spice it up just a bit since it was a little chilly out. I loved my outfit, it was so fun to wear!

And in case you were living under rock (I'm kidding), Friday was my birthday. Some of the mommas from the school had the DJ announce my birthday and they had party hats and a birthday cupcake (complete with candle) for me at the party.

This picture was taken after lots of dancing and the shedding of my shoes, lol

The next few are just some random shots from the night...

My boss and me (he was cracking me up with his hat and cigar)

My parents and me. Aren't we a good lookin' bunch?

Apologies for the poor picture quality, however, I had to throw this one (and the next one) in for a laugh. Maybe I was doing the Cupid Shuffle? Cha Cha Slide? Who knows! But I love you all and I'm secure with the less-than-flattering photos :)

There are no words for this picture...

This is one of my professors from my undergraduate school. I was SO excited to see her! I had no idea that she was going to be there, but we spent the whole night together :)

And we're done. I finally had to put my shoes back on and wrap it up. I was sad to see the night end. It was a blast, as you can see!

I hope you enjoyed my weekend recap. Today was very chill. We went to church and then out to lunch. We needed to recover from last night's festivities, lol. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and you're rested and ready for the week ahead :)

And thank you again for all your sweet birthday messages that you left me! You all are the best!
