New Year's Sparkle

Dress // Shrug // Heels // Clutch // Jewelry // Fragrance // Polish

(Set via my polyvore)

This outfit certainly isn't for the girl who wants to blend in on New Year's Eve, but really where's the fun in that?! If I was getting glammed up to ring in 2012 (and money wasn't an object!) this is the frock I would be sporting come Saturday night. I am in love with the pop of pink and the gold sparkle, it declares 'Happy New Year', if you ask me!

What will you be wearing when the ball drops?

Best of BEB in 2011

 (Images via Pinterest)

Hello, sweet readers!

Thank you for another fantastic year here at Brown Eyed Belle. I simply can't thank you enough. If I could send each of you a handwritten note, I would.

Two-thousand eleven was full of wonderful moments - blog love, tumbling, birthdays, my favorite things, lots of pink and green, and inspirations galore. Even though I'm overwhelmed with these experiences I was able to share with you, there is still one that shines brighter than all of them combined. I never could've imagined that 2011 would bring me so much happiness, and I thank you for being a part of it all.

Here are my favorite posts from 2011. I hope you enjoy reminiscing as much as I did!

In the midst of all the jewel tones of the holiday season, I thought it a perfect time to share these sugary images from the Louis Vuitton spring 2012 campaign. All the pastels have me thinking about wardrobe updates and lovely little details.

I'm smitten with all the headbands and, of course, the shoes!

Brown Eyed Belle Christmas Wish List

I love to see what everyone is hoping to get under their tree and in their stockings at Christmas, and bloggers' Christmas wish lists are one of my favorite things about the holidays. Everyone's list looks different but there's always a fun (usually stylish) common thread in each one.

Here's what's on my 2011 wish list, enjoy!

You Should Follow. . .

(Image via Kate Spade tumblr)

As you know, I love spreading the word about wonderful new blogs I discover. I used to do posts like this all the time when I first started blogging. Since I've branched out into other social networking arenas over the past two years (twitter, tumblr, contributing writer), I've discovered even more fantastic reads! And what better time to spread some blogging cheer than right now?!

Happy blogging, friends!

A Week in Black & White

(Image via la douleur exquise)

What started as a complete accident, quickly turned into a fashion game for me last week. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I inadvertently put together combinations of black and white for my outfits. When I realized Wednesday morning that I had 'done it again,' I decided I needed to carry the trend through the week!

I can't tell you how fun it was to dress with a certain color combination in mind everyday. I'm a neutral girl in the winter anyway, so black and white was quite a fun combo for my first little fashion experiment like this.

Here are my outfits from last week:

***

(Monday: Black three-quarter sleeved dress trimmed in winter white with large buttons, black tights, and black Isaac Mizrahi for Target flats)

**

(Tuesday: Black pants, Karen Kane floral printed tie-at-waist silk blouse, a $20 TJ Maxx find black & white sweater, red patent pointy flats; Jewelry: Tiffany's)

**

(Wednesday: Mossimo silk spotted dress over Target polka dot ruffled blouse, black tights, black flats with flower embellishment; Jewelry: Tiffany's, boutique finds)

**

(Thursday: Black dress, Michael Kors stripe sweater with rhinestone button detail, black chunky sweater on top, black leggings, and black flats with flower embellishment; Jewelry: Tiffany's, Target, mark by Avon)

**

(Friday: Old Target sweater dress, black Karen Kane infinity scarf, black tights, black Steve Madden boots; Jewelry: Tiffany's, Pandora, boutique finds)

Before you ask, no I'm not doing this experiment this week too. However, I recommend trying it! Your mind starts to sort through your clothes in a whole new way. You'll be digging out things you forgot you had!

Happy Monday, friends!

It's amazing how bloggers have latched on to the Instagram app phenomenon, myself included. The filters that are available to jazz up your photos are spectacular. A simple snapshot instantly becomes even more meaningful, lovely, and artsy.

Glamorous Holiday Gift Tags

 (Images via The Glamourai)

Hello, sweet friends, and happy Monday!

We're only a couple weeks away from Christmas- can you believe it?! One of my favorite pieces of the holiday season is the gift wrapping. All the paper and ribbon combinations you can create are endless! I was happy to find that my sweet friend Sandy, from Ooh La Frou Frou, created the most wonderful gift tags that you can add to your own packages! The beautiful illustrations were done by her, and she was kind enough to provide printable sheets for us to enjoy!

Simply click here, scroll to the bottom where the PDF files are located, click to open them, and print! She still has the 2010 tags listed, too!

I recommend printing them on card stock, punching a hole in the top and looping your favorite ribbon through to attach them to your presents. It will be a lovely and thoughtful surprise for everyone on your gift list!

Kiki & Coco: A Girly Tea Party

 (Image via Stephanie Rausser)

A while back I wrote about the lovely images photographer Stephanie Rausser captured of her daughter on a trip to Paris- Kiki & Coco in Paris. Imagine my surprise when I received a lovely message in my inbox informing me that those images have recently been transformed into a book by the same name! What a fabulous gift for any little 'Kiki!'

Through this email I was also introduced to the most charming tea salon that will host a Kiki & Coco in Paris book signing and reading this Friday. Crown & Crumpet is a San Francisco-based establishment that is truly every girly girl's dream! The photos below prove it! Stephanie Rausser, Nina Gruener (author of the book), and Jess Brown (designer of the charming doll, Coco, featured in the Parisian adventure) will be present at the event for lots of mixing and mingling with guests.

Now, if only I could get to San Francisco by Friday!
